Claudia Acosta is a bilingual actor, producer, director, writer and teaching artist. Claudia is celebrating her 12th year as a guest artist for Performing Arts Fort Worth at Bass Hall with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Texas Ballet Theater as narrator in "Peter and the Wolf" and in "Once Upon A Tale" with acclaimed storyteller, Charlotte Blake Alston, performing for 32,000 children a year. Ms. Acosta has worked with Hip Pocket Theatre, Fort Worth Theatre, Teatro Dallas and served as Interim Artistic Director for Cara Mia Theater Company of Dallas. Original works have been produced by Sound Culture, Young Audiences of North Texas and Teatro de la Rosa (founding member). Her first play "Girlie Stories" is now published in "Taboo Theater: Sex and Violence on Stage" (University Readers).
Claudia created and co-produced the first-ever Rose Marine Latino Film Festival in Fort Worth, Texas and produced a short documentary with Academy Award-winning Director, Nigel Noble, about a competitive Rocketry program in a rural border town of Presidio, Texas. She also served as a Script Developer for Scenarios USA’s acclaimed short, "Man in the Mirror" directed by Joel Schumacher.
As a theater arts educator, Claudia has worked with many organizations in Dallas/Fort Worth as an educator, facilitator, director and outreach coordinator. In New York, she has served after-school programs, public schools, charter schools, colleges, universities, safe houses, homeless shelters and prisons with The Public Theater, Shadow Box Theater, White Bird Productions, Creative Arts Team of CUNY and Arts Connection. Ms. Acosta has been a teaching artist for Lincoln Center Education since 2008. Ms. Claudia will be performing "Two Arms and a Noise," a one-woman piece developed at New York Theater Workshop, in the 2016 Bucharest International Theater Platform in Romania.
